A group of construction workers found a World War II bomb on Thursday that was buried near the old Hong Kong airport.
The meter-long bomb was buried in Kai Tak, an industrial area of Kowloon, the former site of Hong Kong International Airport, which was used between 1925 and 1998.
The workers have notified the police, who have ordered the area to be evacuated as a preventive measure, the security agency told the data protection agency. Around 2,000 people were displaced.
However, the police have warned that more people may be evacuated if the bomb removal operation is complicated. In fact, a train station has closed near the site.
