Walmart de México y Centroamérica announced that it has established a temporary program to support its micro and small suppliers that have been unable to carry out their normal activities as a result of the provisions issued in the event of a COVID-19 pandemic .
“In circumstances such as our country is experiencing, we strengthen our vision and, as we have previously announced, we offered support to volunteer packers, to associates in our operating areas, among other actions. Now, we support our business partners who are micro and small companies ”, commented Guilherme Loureiro, CEO and CEO of Walmart de México y Centroamérica.
These supports are:
1. Suppliers of Goods and Services
In Mexico, the company has approximately 30 thousand suppliers of goods and services, and a high proportion are micro and small companies that, faced with the pandemic, face situations that hinder their operation and require liquidity. For these providers, it has been decided to shorten the payment period to 7 days, the months of April, May and June. Those suppliers who consider that they are in this case, must access our Retail Link system to know the requirements to obtain this benefit.
Approximately 11,000 commercial premises leased to various types of businesses use commercial space in company units, either within or adjacent to the unit itself. Many of these tenants are micro or small companies, which have been limited or prevented from operating due to not being considered essential activities. Based on the above, two months of rent will be waived; that is, the income corresponding to the months of April and May. The micro and small companies that consider to be located in this assumption should approach their contact in the Real Estate Business Division of Walmart de México y Centroamérica.
