Von Leyen assures that Germany’s contributions will ultimately pay off under the European Agreement

The President of the European Commission, German Ursula von der Leyen, assumes that the significant increase in Germany’s contributions, which was agreed this week after the major agreement between the countries of the European Union this week about the effects of the coronavirus , in the end will show benefits for the country itself in complete security.

According to the agreements reached at the most recent EU summit, Germany must make an additional contribution of 10 billion euros per year to the European budget, which in future will amount to around 40 billion euros.

“If there is a country that knows exactly how much profit it is making from the domestic market, it is Germany,” said Von der Leyen in an interview with the media of the Funke communications group.
