Von der Leyen and Johnson ask the negotiators “extra effort” for last-minute deals

The President of the European Commission, Urusla von der Leyen, and the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson this Sunday asked the negotiators on both sides to “make additional efforts” so that they can continue negotiations in Brussels to rescue a last-minute deal that Brexit gives way to a relationship with no more trade rules than the standards of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on January 1st.
