Volkswagen apologized for showing an ad for his new car model golfthat Internet users considered racist. The company said in a statement, “The video is certainly a big mistake.”

In addition, in the order of the letters that appear at the end of the video, the word “negro” was visualized, a derogatory term for “black people” in Germany.

Volkswagen eliminated the video after the wave of criticism it began to generate on the Internet. However, some users have managed to take screenshots of the advertising.

The German company explained that many initiatives within the company promote diversity, cooperation and integration without prejudice. He added that his own history made the firm a firm position against all forms of racism, xenophobia and discrimination.
