Venezuela recorded a record number of coronavirus cases this Saturday, with 351 new positives in the past 24 hours, the highest number since the pandemic started in the country.
Venezuelan Health Minister Carlos Alvarado has reported that 249 cases have been locally broadcast and 102 have been imported from abroad, including positive ones from Colombia and Brazil. With this new data, the number of cases in the country has increased to 5,130 and 42 people have died from the pandemic.
“The Colombian corona virus infects cases in Venezuela. Brazil also affects the situation in the country,” said Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, according to Venezolana de Televisión.
Rodríguez has indicated that the pandemic was “irresponsible” in these countries, which he believes has brought the coronavirus epicenter to Latin America.
