Venezuela exceeds 9,000 infections after 375 positive cases and two deaths within 24 hours

Venezuela’s executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, has announced that 320 cases in the community, 55 imported cases, and two coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. So the country has 9,178 cases and a total of 85 deaths.

Of the community cases, 142 belong to the state of Zulia, 48 to the capital district, 45 to Sucre, 26 to Miranda, 21 to Anzoátegui, 19 to Falcón, six to Apure, four to Amazonas, three to La Guaira, two to Barinas, two to Delta Amacuro and one to Trujillo or Lara, according to the Venezuelan newspaper ‘El Universal’.

Of the imported cases, 44 come from Colombia, five from Peru, two from Ecuador and four from contact with international travelers. In addition, there are two new deceased: a 72-year-old man in the state of Anzoátegui, a gym manager, and a 55-year-old health worker in the state of Lara who suffered from high blood pressure.

There are currently 6,422 cases active in Venezuela, 81 in clinics and 6,341 in hospitals and comprehensive diagnostic centers (CDI).
