Venezuela broke the barrier of 20,000 coronavirus cases this Sunday after registering more than 700 cases in the past 24 hours, as Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez announced.
In particular, the Venezuelan health authorities confirmed 763 new infections this Sunday, which have increased the global balance of the Caribbean country to 20,206 positive values.
Of the new cases, 633 are transferred from the Community and 130 are imported. Most local transmission infections have been confirmed in the capital district, which has become the epicenter of the pandemic in Venezuela. 3,354 cases are currently active. Rodríguez also highlighted that 79 percent of the cases reported this Sunday are asymptomatic.
In addition, five deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded in Venezuela, according to El Universal newspaper, so the number of deaths from the disease is already 174.
