A total of 85 babies under one year of age were tested positive for coronavirus in Nueces County, Texas, one of the major active sources of the new disease in the country.
“We currently have 85 babies under the age of one who have tested positive for coronavirus in the Nueces district,” said Annette Rodríguez, director of public health for the City of Corpus Christi.
“These babies have not yet celebrated their first birthday. Please help us stop the spread of this new disease,” he appealed, according to the CNN. Rodríguez has submitted no further data on the health status of these infected children.
In Nueces, the falls shot up in July after several weeks of a flat curve. The authorities are asking the population to wear a mask and to keep the physical safety distance.
