August 21, 2020

The Ukrainian Ministry of Health this Friday reported a new record of coronavirus infections within 24 hours – at least 2,207 – that has caused the country to cross the 100,000 threshold, specifically to hit 100,643.

The death rate has also reached unprecedented levels since the pandemic began, reaching 73 deaths this Friday. In total, 2,134 people in Ukraine have lost their lives to COVID-19 while more than 51,000 patients have overcome the disease.

The authorities estimate that, according to statistics, there are more than 47,000 active cases, which, as the ministry itself has recalled, do not take into account the infections in the “occupied territories”, which indicate the rebel regions of the East and the Crimean Peninsula.
