Ukrainian authorities this Friday increased the number of Russian soldiers killed to 20,000 since the country’s invasion began on February 24.
In an update of its data published on the social network Facebook, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces detailed that its armed forces destroyed 756 tanks, 1,976 armored vehicles, 366 artillery systems and 66 anti-aircraft systems. They also destroyed 163 airplanes, 144 helicopters, eight boats and 76 fuel tanks.
The Ukrainian authorities have clarified that they continue to update the data, but the calculation is “complicated” by the “high intensity” of hostilities.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov admitted a week ago that the Russian army had suffered a “significant” loss of troops in Ukraine, although he indicated that the “operation” in the neighboring country could end “in the coming days”.
