The balance of coronavirus cases in Ukraine rose to 148,756 this Friday after health officials recorded 3,144 more infections in the past 24 hours, an unprecedented daily number since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The number of those recovered already exceeds 67,000, while the number of those who died this Friday passed the 3,000 threshold. In particular, 3,076 patients were killed, 53 more than the victims included in the balance sheet published on Thursday, reports the UNIAN agency.
The government has divided the different regions of Ukraine by color according to the spread of the virus, so the restrictions vary by area. Despite the boom in the cases, Health Minister Maksim Stepanov has ruled out that the executive will consider introducing new detention measures.
One of the most visible faces of the pandemic in Ukraine is that of former Prime Minister Yukia Timoshenko, who was admitted to a severe condition after being diagnosed with coronavirus. Her spokeswoman Marina Soroka confirmed on Facebook this Friday that she has already tested negative and is “feeling much better” despite still suffering from pneumonia.
