Ukraine on Monday denounced the flimsy use by the Russian authorities of international organizations to spread “absurd allegations” about Kyiv, including “false information” about the development of a biological weapons program.
In a Foreign Ministry statement, Ukraine has condemned the “unfounded allegations” made by Russia at the United Nations Security Council on Sunday against its authorities and armed forces, such as the preparation of “terrorist attacks on foreign diplomatic missions in Lviv”. , as well as “plans to use chemical weapons in Sumy and Kotliarevo”.
Russia is once again using international organizations to spread absurd accusations against Ukraine, including misinformation about the alleged development of a biological weapons program.
Ukraine claims that this “false narrative” from Moscow aims to “create reporting” that justifies the rest of the “crimes” it would have wanted to commit on Ukrainian territory.
In turn, he has also used the statement to condemn the attack by Russian forces on the city of Sumy in the north-west of the country, which damaged a chemical plant and caused an already controlled spill of “highly toxic” ammonia.
In this sense, Ukraine has already transferred to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) “the threat” posed by the possibility that Russia will use chemical weapons during the conflict, for which it has again sued the international community for “urgent action.” ‘ to counter the Kremlin’s ‘imminent aggressive actions’.
