The UK authorities reported 22,961 confirmed cases in the past 24 hours this Sunday. That number includes nearly 16,000 positives that were not previously included in the statistics. Additionally, the bulletin lists 33 deaths, bringing the country to a total of 42,350 deaths and 502,978 confirmed cases.
This increase is due to technical reasons, as 15,841 cases corresponding to England had not previously been reported, authorities have stated, while warning that there will be more additional cases in the coming days between September 25 and September 25 were registered on October 2nd.
Once those cases are subtracted, the number will stay at 7,120 new positives, similar to those that have produced the counts on a daily basis since late September and close to the high of 7,701 on September 29, the all-time high since the pandemic began.
Public Health of England has stated that all those affected have received the results of the tests and those who test positive have been informed that they must be quarantined.
