Faced with the spread of COVID-19 , Uber decided to suspend its Uber Pool service , which allows shared rides between multiple users. All this as a preventive measure to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
Until now, this action will be applied only in the United States and Canada, however, the company is evaluating the implementation of the measure in other countries where this option is available.
Likewise, the firm is also sending messages with recommendations, such as using trips only if necessary and following the sanitary regulations issued by the authorities in each of its cities.
For its part, Uber Eats will let its delivery people leave the food at the customers' doors to avoid contact and will provide them with sanitation material. In the same way, the brand will waive its delivery rates for orders made to independent or local restaurants.
The company will also deliver 300,000 meals to health workers and first responders who work on the front lines to control the virus.
