At least two members of an “irregular group” have died in a confrontation with the operation of the Venezuelan Bolivarian National Guard in the Zulia region, particularly near the border with neighboring Colombia, according to government sources.
One of the suspects, who appears to be from Colombia, was arrested.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Casigua El Cubo, parish of Jesús María Semprum in the state of Zulia. The suspects were traveling in a brown Hilux van, from which they shot at the military who responded to the attack and killed two people.
On the construction site, the military collected an Afag M60 machine gun of caliber 7.62 x 51 mm. with 61 cartridges of the same caliber, a 5.56 mm war rifle, a Galil model with a 13-round magazine of the same caliber and a 9 mm Prieto Beretta pistol, model 92F, with 15 cartridges.
