UK authorities have reported 1,813 new cases of coronavirus and 12 more deaths from the new disease in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of infections since the pandemic started to 344,164 and 41,549 deaths, respectively.
The data contrasts with the roughly 57,300 deaths that saw the word COVID-19 mentioned on their death certificates reported by the various UK administrations.
There are also 756 hospital patients, 69 of whom are on a ventilator, according to the official bulletin this Saturday.
The pandemic has already affected 26.7 million people worldwide, of which 876,149 have died. This comes from the latest updated report from Johns Hopkins University.
