Trump threatens to “regain control of Seattle” under protests: “This is not a game”

June 11, 2020

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, threatened Washington Governor Jay Inslee this Thursday with “regaining control of (the city) Seattle” in the face of violent protests in the region after the death of Afro-American George Floyd from the police in Minneapolis.

“Take control of the city again now. If you don’t, I’ll do it,” Trump said in a message on his Twitter account to Inslee and the city’s mayor, Jenny Durkan. “This is not a game. These terrible anarchists must be stopped as soon as possible. Move!” He stressed.

The New York magnate has therefore called the demonstrators “domestic terrorists” and, according to the CNN television broadcaster, has assured them that it has conquered Seattle.

In this sense, the president – who described both politicians as “radical” – threatened to use the army to suppress the protests. However, Inslee and Durkan, both Democrats, reacted quickly to the president.
