The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has shown his support for the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, despite responding to the coronavirus pandemic and increasing the number of cases and deaths in the state.
“One thing I’m going to tell you about Ron is that he handles the pressure well,” Trump said in a meeting between the two leaders to sign an executive order that would allow Florida to import prescription drugs from abroad perform.
Desantis, who said nothing about his actions against the corona virus, thanked Trump for agreeing on the matter. “You had a lot of people who said you don’t, but you focused on lowering drug prices, especially for older people in the state of Florida,” the governor said, according to the Miami Herald newspaper.
White House adviser Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday criticized the stance of states that, despite the corona virus, were quickly resuming economic activity. “They opened some stores very quickly, like bars,” said Conway.
