The President of the United States, Donald Trump, assured this Monday that the Coronavirus is “well contained” in the White House after two positive results were confirmed among the West Wing employees, one of his personal assistants and that of Katie Miller, spokeswoman of the Vice President, Mike Pence.
“I think it’s really well contained,” Trump said during a press conference, adding that the White House “is doing a really good job of monitoring it.”
When asked how surveillance systems failed and how infected personnel were exposed to others in the White House, Trump assured that “it can happen.” “It can happen. It’s the hidden enemy,” he said.
However, the US president has defended that “many people” work in the White House and that only one case has been discovered. “We have a lot of people in the White House … we basically had one,” he said without acknowledging the positive of one of his assistants, a member of the Navy.
