Trump says he will not “give the press the pleasure” of seeing him in a mask

May 22, 2020

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has assured this Thursday that he will not “give the press” the pleasure “of seeing him with a mask used to prevent a possible contagion of COVID-19, though she does used this.

“I don’t want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it,” Trump said during a visit to a Ford plant in Michigan, where all employees were ordered to wear it to protect themselves.

Trump wore a mask – dark blue and specifically with the President’s seal – during the visit, but he refused to wear it in front of the cameras, as the CNN television station reports.

Before the trip to Michigan began, the US president said he “did not know” whether he would wear a mask during the factory visit. “Let’s see. A lot of people asked me this question,” he told reporters. “I want our country to become normal again. I want to normalize,” he added.
