The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has ordered 9,500 members of his contingent to be withdrawn from Germany this fall without first telling the German government, a partner of NATO, as the US newspaper Wall Street Journal reports.

The news was confirmed by the German publication “Der Spiegel”, in which the number of soldiers who will return to the USA from September is estimated to be between 5,000 and 15,000. Neither the White House nor the U.S. Department of Defense has yet decided.

The decision has already been made, according to the Wall Street Journal, and there is already a memorandum recently signed by White House National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.
