Trump expands unemployment protection measures as US affects five million infections

August 8, 2020

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced four executive orders this Saturday to extend the benefits of unemployment protection, deferment of nominal taxes, protection from evictions and facilitation of student loans after a lack of agreement between the North American Congress and the country shortly before reaching five million coronavirus infections.

Trump was forced to enact this executive order, the exclusive province of the president, after neither Democrats nor Republicans reached consensus on the new relief measures. The president has ugly Democrats who “just want ransom” and have no interest in protecting Americans.

This new ordinance will give Americans $ 400 a week in unemployment benefits, compared to $ 600 a week provided until last week, and has stated that states would be responsible for covering 25% of the cost.

The previous $ 600 was part of an extraordinary bailout package negotiated in Congress earlier this year, which was worth nearly $ 3 trillion. The president has not clarified from which aid program he wants to draw 75 percent of the new monthly benefit that the federal government has to take over.
