The President of the United States, Donald Trump, declared a state of emergency in the state of Texas this Sunday due to the impact of hurricane ‘Hanna’ in the past few hours by more than thirty districts in the country, the White House reports Sunday.
“Today, President Donald Trump announced an emergency in the state of Texas and ordered federal aid,” the statement said.
With approval, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is given permission to identify, mobilize, and deploy the equipment and resources necessary to mitigate the effects of the emergency, at its discretion.
Hurricane ‘Hanna’ hit the Texas coast this Saturday before losing strength. However, around 300,000 inhabitants of the region remained without electricity.
