Trump approves Florida emergency statement for hurricane ‘Isaias’

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, approved Saturday’s declaration of a state of emergency in Florida due to Hurricane Isaías to provide federal aid and complement the “efforts” of the state, the White House said in a statement.

With approval, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is given permission to coordinate, identify, mobilize, and deploy the resources needed to alleviate the emergency, and to reduce or avoid the risk of a disaster that is nearing disaster in twenty counties.

“The President’s action empowers FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to alleviate the difficulties and suffering caused by the emergency in the population,” the statement said.
