The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the deployment of the National Guard in Minneapolis this Friday to curb the extreme tensions in the city after three days of protests and riots over the death of a black citizen during a police arrest.
George Floyd’s death this week, after spending a few minutes with the neck of a policeman on the neck, has sparked protests, riots, and looting in the most populous city in the state of Minnesota, which is currently in a state of emergency.
“The National Guard is on site. You are in Minneapolis, fully prepared,” the president said on his Twitter account.
The President also assured that Floyd “will not have died in vain” in relation to the agent’s investigation before initiating a statement to those responsible for the unrest. “Respect his memory!” Warned the President.
