“There may be some (deaths) because (people) aren’t locked up in an apartment or house or whatever,” Trump said during an interview on ABC.
However, Trump noted: “At the same time, we will practice social distancing, we will wash our hands, we will do many things that we have learned recently.”
With that in mind, the US President has defended the need to reopen the states’ economies, arguing that social constraints have led to overdosing and suicide. “Look at what’s happening. People are losing their jobs. We have to be back and that’s what we’re doing,” he said.
