Tropical storm ‘Isaías’ hit the Canadian coast on Wednesday after leaving at least six dead on its way through the US East Coast and 3 million people without electricity, according to the USA Today newspaper.
The Canadian Hurricane Center has warned of possible rainfall due to the meteorological phenomenon, which is the ninth storm of the year to hit the area.
As explained by the U.S. authorities, the deaths are primarily due to tree winds and tornado formation, particularly in the states of North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York.
Although the storm has already left the area, warnings of tropical storms continue to apply in Massachusetts and Maine as persistent winds of 72 km / h persist. Authorities are expecting a new tornado in eastern Maine.
