Travala.com added recently 600,000 additional hotels to its online travel platform powered by crypto thanks to a recent partnership with the reservation giant Agoda.
Juan Otero, CEO of Travala, told Cointelegraph that the number of properties on the platform has now reached over 2.2 million. He claimed:
“We can safely say that we are the world’s largest blockchain-based online travel agency based on the number of available accommodation options with more than 2,200,000 booking options for 90,124 destinations.”
Agoda is a travel giant that employs more than 4,300 people and has an annual income of $ 1.2 billion, according to the company’s Owler data website.
The announcement follows Travala.com’s partnership with Expedia in early July, which also introduced a significant number of hotels on the platform. End of November 2019 The company also entered into a similar partnership with Booking.com. This caused the reserves on the platform to explode by 68% soon after.
In May, Travala.com, at that time only a booking service for accommodation, also merged with the flight booking service TravelByBit in cryptocurrency.
