Tokyo has a record number of infections and the country has more than 400 cases for the first time since April

The Japanese capital, Tokyo, has registered more than 200 new infections for the third time in a row, a record since the pandemic was declared, which is about half of the 413 new cases reported across the country in the past few hours.

This Saturday, the Tokyo city government confirmed 206 new cases, following 243 on Friday, the daily record and 224 on Thursday, for a total of 7,721 positive cases in the capital alone.

While waiting for the national balance to come out this Saturday, the Japanese authorities confirmed 413 new infections this Friday, which were above 400 for the first time since April 24.

The total number of infections across the country was 21,181 on Friday, while 995 people died of the disease, including 13 from the cruise ship ‘Diamond Princess’, which docked 712 additional cases in Yokohama Harbor with a declared coronavirus outbreak.
