MADRID, Jan. 21 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Israeli Defense Forces have struck down at the last minute three Palestinians who have crossed the border from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.
According to information from the Israeli Army to the local newspaper 'Haaretz', the Palestinians had tried to launch several improvised explosive devices against the forces of the Israeli forces after entering several meters into the territory.
Israeli troops, who have indicated that no residents have been injured, have explained that the suspects were introduced at least 400 meters on Israeli soil from the Gaza Strip.
Last week, the Israeli Army bombed “underground infrastructure” of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip in response to the launch of 'explosive balloons' from the enclave.
Several of these balloons had been located during the day in Eshkol and exploded during an inspection of the agents. The police have asked the population not to approach or touch these devices.
The incidents took place one day after the launch of four projectiles from the area against Israel, two of which were intercepted, after which Israel bombed Hamas targets in Gaza.
The Israeli Government, acting for the lack of political agreement – in March Israel will hold its third elections in less than a year – has maintained in recent weeks a relatively peaceful coexistence with Hamas, the militia party that controls since 2007 the coastal territory.
