“Difficult days are our chance to be heroes.” What a great phrase from Reid Hoffman.

Companies It is not easy at all. Not all of your days will be good. So what can you do to keep your team going?
Step one: You have to remember that you are not alone. “At some point and at many points in my career, startups that I founded or invested in had very bad times,” said the co-founder of LinkedIn Reid Hoffman, now partner at the venture capital firm Greylock Partners, in his Masters Of Scale podcast. “Many companies face an existential threat all the time. They will live or die depending on how they overcome their emergencies. But sometimes the team is tired and discouraged. Even worse, sometimes the team is afraid.”
The LinkedIn founder assured you that you need to go to step two to revitalize your employees: Find the words that inspire your employees to evolve.
In difficult times, Hoffman says he often gives members of his team a version of the same speech. And in the latest episode of Masters of Scale, he shared it so you can cheer yourself and your employees up even in tough times:
“If starting were easy, everyone would do it. Startups are tough. But this tenacity gives you the chance to change the world. All startups go through the valley of shadow. Even those who changed the world: PayPal, LinkedIn , Facebook, Airbnb and many that I personally founded or invested in. They all go through shadowy valleys where people ask, “Why did we think it was a good idea to open this business? We don’t have it realized it would be so difficult. ”But here you have the chance to be heroic, achieve something no one else has done, make a change in the world that is reflected in society and changes the lives of millions of people And that’s why you’re facing dark days, teaming up and working very hard to solve problems. Difficult days are our chance to be heroes. “
Try your own version of this speech the next time your team needs you to lift your spirits. Consider the following: People will no longer work alone for a fortnight. They strive every day because they feel they are doing something meaningful, and with your leadership you can create that sense of meaning.
