NEW YORK, Dec. 22 (EUROPE PRESS) –

At least thirteen people have been injured as a result of a shooting on Saturday night during a party in a neighborhood in southern Chicago, according to police, who has arrested two suspects. Four of the injured are in critical condition. The victims are between 16 and 48 years old.

The incident occurred in the Englewood neighborhood around 12.35 pm when one of the firing detectors, a microphone system and other sensors installed by the authorities was activated.

“I woke up from the noise and heard 4, 5 or 6 very loud shots, so it seemed like it was close,” explained one of the neighbors, Terrence Daniely, in statements to the local ABC chain affiliate. “I went to look out the window and saw people shouting and running away from a party,” he added. “The police response has been impressive, with a hundred agents in the place,” he said.

Chicago Police Patrol Chief Fred Waller has already reported this Sunday that the shooting began as a result of a dispute inside a home where a party was taking place. People began to go outside and the shooting continued inside the building.

“It is an isolated incident of a party that overflowed into the street. The shots were inside, they started to leave and that was when there were shots outside,” explained the police command.

The balance of the weekend in Chicago is four dead and 34 gunshot wounds in shootings since 17.00 on Friday.
