Thirteen deaths in the Philippines from “Kompasu” that leaves a deceased in Hong Kong

The death toll from tropical storm “Kompasu” through the Philippines has risen to thirteen, according to local authorities, who have also indicated that another nine people are still missing.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest report that more than 21,500 people have been affected, while around 5,850 have been transferred to evacuation centers.

He also stressed that ‘Kompasu’ in Cagayan, Cordillera, Ilocos and Mimaropa resulted in more than 40 roads and four bridges being shut down, as reported by the Philippine television channel GMA.

On the other hand, “Kompasu” has caused power outages in more than a hundred cities and towns, around 60 of which they have already restored, while four ports continue to cease operations.

The tropical storm has also landed in Hong Kong, where, according to local authorities, it left at least one dead, which has opened 24 emergency shelters where around 250 people have already sought refuge.
