Third consecutive day of mobilizations in Mexico for the death of a man while arrested

June 7, 2020

Around 3,000 young people have demonstrated for the third time in a row in Guadalajara, Mexico, to demand justice for the death of worker Giovanni López during a police arrest and the release of protesters detained in the past few days.

This Saturday’s mobilization was peaceful and has covered the distance that separates Glorieta Minerva from the Plaza de Armas in front of the Jalisco State Palace.

An important security device had been deployed around the government palace, consisting of unarmed city police officers from Guadalajara, civil defense and street police without helmets or shields.

The demonstrators gathered at the kiosk in the square, were silent for a minute, and raised their fists to demand justice for police violence.
