Are you confused, desperate, heartbroken, or passionate? There is a Emoji Therefore.
The Unicode Consortium, the decision maker of all emoji, has just announced the release of more than 200 new characters. While the pictograms probably won’t be ready until 2021, they succinctly express what most of us feel today in this perverted world. You won’t find any rainbows or winking smileys on the list. Rather, you see heads in the clouds and bulging eyes. Still, there are some bright spots ahead. Here’s a little glimpse of what’s coming to your smartphone soon.
1. Face with spiral eyes
This is what someone looks like who has just spent 20 minutes watching the news. In the midst of a deadly pandemic, devastating forest fires, and polarized politics, it can look like the world as we once knew it was spiraling out of control. Unicode describes this face with spiral eyes as a sign of “anger, dizziness”. Sounds good.
2. Face in the clouds
For those with that feeling of confusion, heads in the clouds, this emoji is what they need. The perfect emoji for that type of day in quarantine and social distancing.
3. Exhale face
We’re not sure if this emoji is vaping, sneezing, coughing, or exhaling, but it’s best to put a mask on.
4. Heart on fire
This emoji could symbolize a burning passion or burning indigestion. It’s your decision.
5. Repair the heart
Unfortunately, many hearts have been broken this year. This emoji indicates the healing process.
6. Woman, man, person with beard (different skin tones)
Now you can find gender-neutral bearded emojis that differ from gender-specific ones by things like hair length, face size, or eyebrows.
7. Couple with a heart
For all home lovers, there are Heart Couple emojis in four different gender variants: gender-neutral, female-female, male-male and female-male. They are available in 5 different skin tone options. Bonus: There is also a kiss couple option.
