According to a Forbes report, these apps from the subsidiary of the TCL corporation accumulate 382 million downloads worldwide.

The risk posed by these platforms was announced by a VPNpro investigation that indicated that these apps ask the user for a “large number of dangerous permits” such as the ability to make calls and record them, take photos, record videos and more. Even some of these apps are infected with “malware” that collects data from the user's cell phone.

Once downloaded, Forbes explains that the applications would connect to an external server so developers can do data mining to sell to advertisers.

Google said in statements to the media that it decided to withdraw these apps because the company takes “reports of security and privacy violations seriously.” However, if you already have these applications, you must uninstall them manually.
