Mexico’s Ministry of Health reported this Friday that the country has addressed 550,000 cases of coronavirus and 60,000 deaths, according to recent health officials.
Undersecretary of State for Prevention and Health Promotion Hugo López-Gatell has announced that the total number of positive results in the country stands at 549,734, while 59,610 people have died from COVID-19.
In particular, authorities have added 5,928 more cases and 504 deaths from the pandemic in the past 24 hours. López-Gatell has also stated that after overcoming the disease, a total of 376,409 people in Mexico have recovered, although more than 40,000 cases remain active, according to local newspaper ‘El Universal’.
In this regard, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the lack of diagnostic tests in Mexico by reporting that only three coronavirus tests are performed per 100,000 residents.
