The French health authorities reported this Tuesday that they had registered 99,480 deaths from the coronavirus, 345 of them in the last 24 hours, most of them spread across the Paris, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Great East and Hauts de France regions.

The accumulated cases rose to 5,106,329 after 39,113 cases were diagnosed this Tuesday. This is a lot higher than the day before, when the French Ministry of Health reported 8,536 positive results.

Hospital pressure continues to rise. 5,952 patients are admitted to intensive care units, and a further 555 people are admitted. A total of 31,226 inmates are recovering from the corona virus, another 2,500 this Tuesday.

On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron will chair a meeting this Thursday to reorganize the strategy against the coronavirus, two weeks ahead of the deadline set by the government to resume the reopening of some sectors such as cultural and sports spaces as the hospitality industry and some non-essential companies.
