The woman of the alleged author of the attack on Wednesday in the Prefecture of the Police in Paris has assured before the authorities that her husband had had visions the night before and acted in an “incoherent” way, without for now the authorities have detected signs of a terrorist motivation by the aggressor.
The suspect was killed by security forces after he allegedly stabbed several agents, of which four lost their lives. The aggressor, whose identity has not transcended, worked as an officer in police facilities.
Her widow was arrested shortly after the attack and, in her statements before the authorities, has ensured that her husband acted “incoherently” and that even during the previous night, she woke up startled and said she had visions, according to sources consulted by Franceinfo .
The Prosecutor's Office has opened a homicide investigation, with no evidence of a terrorist motivation being detected. The suspect's wife has explained that her husband, who had 70 percent deafness, did not feel recognized by their bosses.
The government spokeswoman, Sibeth N'Diaye, has clarified that there are no clues that point to an “eventual radicalization of the perpetrator of the murders”, despite the fact that on Wednesday several media said an alleged recent conversion to Islam. N'Diaye has reiterated that for now the terrorist track is not prioritized.
Interior Minister Christophe Castaner has visited a police officer who was injured in the attack on Friday and is also scheduled to attend a tribute ceremony convened in the Prefecture.
