The US Undersecretary of State will travel to Uruguay and Peru this Sunday

US Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will travel to Uruguay on November 7th and 9th, and then until the 11th statement.

Sherman will address the security situation in the region with representatives of the Uruguayan government in Montevideo, promote questions of economic cooperation and discuss environmental policy.

With this in mind, the State Secretary will also meet with “business leaders” from the Uruguayan renewable energy sector to “promote cooperation on clean energy,” the letter said.

During his visit to Peru, Sherman will meet with government officials to discuss issues related to defending democracy, protecting human rights and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, among other things.

Eventually, he will also meet with representatives of the indigenous community and members of civil society in Lima, although the office has not disclosed any further details on its agenda.
