The US Senate passes a resolution supporting a peaceful change of power after the elections

The resolution proposed by Democratic Senator Joe Manchin was passed unanimously but is not binding. In particular, through the text, the Senate indicates “its commitment to the peaceful and orderly transfer of power which is prescribed by the United States Constitution”.

It also shows the House of Lords support for the idea that “there should be no interference by the President or any person in power to override the will of the American people,” as reported by The Hill.

“I think that it alarms me and many of my colleagues on both sides when the leader of the free world speaks as if we were an autocracy, authoritarianism against democracy. Even those who remain silent know that they are alarmed,” stressed Manchin . , Senator from West Virginia.
