For his part, Iraqi President Barham Salih has described the incident as a terrorist operation aimed at blocking the country’s political and constitutional context, while the leader of the “Sadrists”, Muqtada al Sadr, has indicated that the attack is aimed at destabilize the security of the country.
In a conversation with Al Arabiya, the Pentagon mentioned having contacted Iran about the offensive it received and confirmed its readiness to respond to the armed Iraqi factions.
On the other hand, the facilities of the Progreso formation, headed by the President of the Parliament Mohamed al Halbusi, were attacked with explosives by two people, the Arab media told Alarabiya that the building was being used by the security forces in the capital, Baghdad.
Progreso has denounced the events and attributed them to a group of outlaws who, according to the formation, protested against the achievements in cooperation with national partners.
“This sinful aggression will only strengthen our adherence to our position, which calls for the unity and stability of Iraq,” the party said.
