MADRID, Nov. 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP25) will finally take place in Madrid between December 2 and 13, announced the UN Executive Secretary for Climate Change, Patricia Espinosa, who thus accepted the offer raised by the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
The Government confirmed Thursday that Sanchez had offered Madrid as the venue for the summit that was initially to take place in Chile and whose celebration had been canceled by the latest protests. Chilean President Sebastián Piñera thanked the “generous offer.”
“We are pleased to announce that the COP Bureau has agreed that COP25 will take place from December 2 to 13 in Madrid, Spain,” Espinosa confirmed in a brief statement. The dates on which this forum was going to be developed in Chile are therefore maintained.
