The UK government has confirmed 1,221 new infections and 43 other coronavirus deaths in the UK in the past 24 hours, which has recorded more than 42,000 deaths and 304,000 cases since the epidemic was declared.

In total, the UK Department of Health and Social Services estimates that 42,632 deaths and 304,331 infections were registered this Sunday on its official Twitter account.
