The UK is seeing a decline in its daily COVID-19 infections and deaths

The UK Ministry of Health reported 39,842 new COVID-19 infections and 165 deaths from the disease this Thursday, numbers slightly lower than the 43,900 and 200 confirmed on Wednesday, respectively.

For example, UK totals have risen to 8,936,155 infections and 140,206 deaths since the pandemic began, amid a deterioration in numbers in the European country, leading experts to urge authorities to take restrictive measures to slow the spread of the disease.

The UK government has trusted the evolution of the pandemic in the country and the lifting of restrictions to curb its progress on the COVID-19 vaccination schedule. As of Thursday, 79.3 percent of the UK population has the full schedule.
