The UK government on Tuesday updated its travel recommendations for Spain to remove the Canary Islands from the list of destinations not recommended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The UK Foreign Office influenced a brief note in which “due to the current evolution of the risks posed by COVID-19, it is advised against all travel to Spain except the essential ones” which “include the Balearic Islands but exclude the Canary Islands” ” .
The UK authorities have included in their latest update the end of border controls in Portugal, which was lifted last weekend.
The UK is collecting more than 4.4 million cases of coronavirus and on Wednesday the Department of Health reported another 1,649 positive results. At least 127,000 people have died as victims of COVID-19 on UK territory.
