The UK government is in favor of making the vaccine compulsory for healthcare workers

UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid has spoken out in favor of making coronavirus vaccine mandatory for NHS workers, the public health service, because of the risks to patient safety.

Javid has pointed out that “around 100,000” workers in the UK healthcare system have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus, which is “a patient safety issue that the government takes very seriously”.

With that in mind, Javid has told Sky News cameras that while a decision has not yet been made on this, he said he would “bow down” to this measure, in line with the requirements to be able to work in dormitories and centers .

A measure which “will take some time in Parliament” but which rules out “months”.

“We have been very clear and open about this, have worked with our colleagues in the NHS and the reason is that when you work at the NHS, you are more prone to the amazing work you do every day.” Virus because it is so much more likely to come into contact with him, but the people he cares for are also more vulnerable, “the British minister later told Times Radio.

Javid’s words come just before UK authorities announce a new £ 5.9 billion (€ 6.9 billion) investment in the UK public health system to streamline the rest of the services hit by the coronavirus crisis.
