The third anniversary of Ambazonia’s declaration of independence ends without any significant incident in Cameroon

October 1, 2020

The situation in the capitals with an English-speaking majority in Cameroon was serene this Thursday, as part of the third anniversary of the Ambazonia Declaration of Independence, after two consecutive years of clashes and riots during the actions in Cameroon commemorating this fact, which by Yaoundé or the international community was not recognized.

According to the Journal du Cameroun newspaper, many businesses in the capitals of the Northwest and Southwest have been closed during the day, while a large part of the population has decided to stay in their homes for fear of possible incidents.

It was pointed out that activities in Buea, the capital of the southwest region, were very limited, while in Bamenda, the capital of the northwest region, daily activities were suspended due to the “Bamenda Limpia” military operation. Launched about two weeks ago by the army against armed separatists.
