The funds were made available in the provinces of Panjshir, Jost, Logar and the province of the capital Kabul.

The Taliban have pledged to tackle the previous administration’s corruption to gain popular trust and have asked the United States to release its overseas funds – about $ 9,000 million – to facilitate transfers of power.
